#education: 'The Story of Queen Esther'

In March, approximately 300 Munich students experienced our children's storytelling concert "The Story of Queen Esther" at the Munich Künstlerhaus, a story of loyalty and courage, and how a seemingly powerless young woman was able to change the course of history through clever, decisive action.

We received particularly positive feedback on this concert from students in the 5th and 6th grades of the Salvator Municipal Secondary School for Girls : they not only sent us a thank you card, but also numerous self-painted pictures of the concert.

To the storytelling concert 'The Story of Queen Esther'

The Jewish festival of Purim, which begins on the evening of March 13, 2025, dates back to Esther. She lived as a Jewish orphan in the Persian diaspora in the 5th century BC. Because of her beauty, King Ahasuerus made her his wife, which aroused great envy at court. When Haman, the Persian king's highest official, attempted to massacre the entire Jewish population, Esther, despite being forbidden to do so, went to the king to expose Haman's treacherous plans. She thus prevented a genocide of the Jews. This rescue is still celebrated at Purim today.

Together with storyteller and educator Markus Nau, the JCOM brings this story to the stage for children up to 6th grade, musically enlivened with atmospheric music from Vivaldi's 'Four Seasons'.
