JEWISH

For many, 'Klezmer' is the epitome of Jewish music. Come with us to the roots of this musical tradition, which originated in the Eastern European shtetl and almost died out when it collapsed. Klezmer became known worldwide in an Americanized version; in our concert you can experience the much rougher sound of the original!

TODAY
In 2017, Berlin composer Moritz Gagern wrote a work for the JCOM that combines traditional Klezmer sounds with new music. The combination creates a new, contemporary listening experience, which the video artist Christoph Brech artfully complements with a film.

FOR ALL
We take everyone to the Jewish wedding: see the silhouette bride and groom with the rabbi and wild wedding dances with the entire shtetl! We can also look behind the scenes: how is a puppet theater created? Sound and image complement each other in an exciting combination.
