JEWISH
New Year in autumn? Celebrate Rosh Hashanah (literally: the ‘head of the year’), which marks the beginning of the Jewish year 5787, with us through festive synagogue music and evergreens of Jewish folk music. During the intermission, we invite you to enjoy traditional apples with honey: shana tova – a sweet new year!
TODAY Cantorial music is thousands of years old, yet it has constantly evolved; today’s cantors (‘hazzanim’) are captivating entertainers. This year, we are once again hosting two international cantor stars at our New Year’s concert: Nachman Turgeman and Yitzhak Zelman.
FOR EVERYONE For over 10 years, the JCOM Jewish New Year’s Concert has been a highlight on the Munich concert calendar, bringing this tradition to us. The audience at the New Year’s concert is a diverse mix: Jewish and non-Jewish, young and old, from Munich and all over the world. It is a celebration for everyone! You don’t need to bring anything: conductor Daniel Grossmann will guide you through the concert. Let yourself be inspired!
