Paul Celan's work, especially his poetry influenced by the experience of the Holocaust, is world-famous. The JCOM is focusing on this Jewish artist in a concert and presenting his work in various musical settings.

The works of the composer Sarah Nemtsov are known for their strong references to non-musical content. She often deals with political and social issues, and her compositions are often based on literary texts. In 2009, the JCOM (then still the Jakobsplatz Orchestra) performed the premiere of the chamber orchestra version of her opera Herzland, based on the correspondence between Paul Celan and Gisèle Celan-Lestrange. A new concert performance is now following.

For the Celan evening in the Munich Kammerspiele, the Munich composer Johannes X. Schachtner is writing a new work for chamber ensemble for the JCOM: under the title Rudimente, he is setting to music the cycle of poems of the same name by André du Bouchet, translated by Paul Celan.
